Damn Smut, that was an awesome read and great photos. The sunset at the top of the hill was phenomenal. and the trophies look awesome, that warthog is flipping huge, dude! great tusks! I'll have to pick your brain sometime about it.

I like that you bowhunted it. I don't have any bowhunting skills, so rifle would be my route when I get to go on safari.

cheers

The terrain looks a lot like Chaffee County (about 1.5 hours west of Manitou), which is roughly the same elevation.

Why would anyone need to own five guns?

Loved the comment on the fat people!

You're right Brownie, no one needs 5 guns. In your world everyone destroys their guns and then we all live in peace and harmony singing Kum Ba Ya. Pass the Koo-Aid.

As for obese Americans - I want to puke every time I see another super-sized blubber-assed bon-bon-eating sperm-whale whining that they want free healthcare when they obviously don't give a shit about their healthcare. Thanks for nothing. Only the guilty need feel guilty.

I'm not quite as anti-gun as you think, but five is a bit of overkill, isn't it? Hell, you only have two hands!

I hear you about the healthcare. I was secretly hoping the bird flu scare was going to happen and wipe out 50% of the population. Survival of the fittest, baby!

Limiting the number, caliber, action-type, ammo capacity, firing rate, color, stock configuration, sights, barrell length, etc. of weapons a law-abiding American wishes to obtain and use is infringing on their right to keep and bear arms, guaranteed by the 2nd ammendment of the US constitution. All US armed forces personel take an oath to support, defend, bear true faith, and allegiance to the same.

There are lots of reasons to own multiple firearms; mainly because different applications call for different rounds and configurations. A Ruger MKII is a poor choice for cape buffalo, as is a Winchester 94 for dove. Many also buy multiple matching guns for investments, backups, matched sets, etc.

Ah, if only the argument were limited to hunters...

when the zombies come, all the anti gun nuts will wish they hadn't gotten rid of them. I'm just saying.

(stockpiling now)

smutt, you coming to SF?

Smut Mutt said...

The hell with zombies, there are genuinely evil people in this world who will do us harm if allowed to. I’ve chosen to utilize the proper tools and tactics to defend myself, calling 911 afterwards for someone to cleanup. Plan B is to try run or cower down into the fetal position & hope for the best. To each his own...

I'm not actively purchasing firearms now as the hoarding and gouging have shot prices through the ceiling. This always happens when any new gun-ban threat (perceived or real) occurs. The prices shoot up and slowly float back down, although I think it'll happen faster with the economy slowdown...

G-Faulker: Yeah, I'll be in Santa Clara Nov 19-29 for work. If I get a break I'll fling you a PM. I usually try to hit the Silicon Valley hashes when I'm out there.

it's cool bro, I'm stocked up and ready to rock. :) could use an extra rifle or 5. :D

yeah, man, let me know, and also if you hash with SV, and I'll ride down for it. or if you wanna come up for some good brew.

Looks like there's a SVH3 on Sat the 22nd; will probably do that. I've hashed those crazy folks many times before although it's been a while.
